A non-surgical option to assist with incontinence
Incontinence
Is your life controlled by a sudden or unexpected loss of bladder control when you cough, laugh, jump or sneeze? Or are you constantly looking for a bathroom because you suffer from the urge to urinate so sudden that you always need to know where the nearest toilet is? If you answered yes, you may be part of the 40% of women or 11% of men in Australia that suffer from urinary incontinence.
Weak pelvic floor muscles provide poor support to pelvic organs, resulting in incontinence. If pelvic floor exercises aren’t effective enough, don’t wait until you are in the most advanced stages of incontinence to consult a professional. Make an appointment for a consultation with us if you have these symptoms:
Sudden or frequent urges to urinate (whether your bladder is full or not)
Weakness of the urinary sphincter or pelvic floor muscles (may indicate bladder neck incompetence)
Spasms, weakness, poor coordination, or hyperactivity of the bladder wall muscles (also known as an overactive bladder or bladder hyperactivity)
Stress Incontinence
Stress incontinence and acute incontinence are both characterised by light to moderate loss of urine. They result from a sudden increase in intra-abdominal pressure. Pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, pelvic radiotherapy, surgical trauma, or neurological diseases can cause incontinence. Do you have sudden urine leaks when you carry heavy objects, cough, sneeze, or laugh? If this is the case, you are the ideal candidate to benefit from the Emsella chair treatment.
Urge incontinence
These uncontrolled losses of urine, occurring as soon as an irrepressible need to urinate cannot be satisfied, are of more significant volume (moderate to extreme). If you often get up at night to urinate (nocturia) or suffer from nocturnal incontinence, the Emsella treatment is an excellent option for you.
Mixed Urinary Incontinence
Mixed incontinence means that a person suffers from more than one type of incontinence—that is, stress, urge, functional, or reflex incontinence.
