Gippsland, Emsella has arrived.

Let us tell you a bit about it….

What is Emsella?

Emsella is a specially developed chair which helps treat urinary incontinence and pelvic floor issues. Treatments are delivered over a course of six 28-minute sessions, in which you remain fully clothed. Emsella has a 95% satisfaction rate.

How does it work?

  • The electromagnetic contractions caused by the this technology are far more powerful and frequent than we can achieve through exercise, delivering thousands of supramaximal contractions per session to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. The energy is targeted at the weakened pelvic muscle through your clothing.

  • The Emsella Chair is suitable for both men and women who are experiencing urinary incontinence and seeking support. It can be particularly beneficial for those with stress incontinence caused by factors such as menopause or childbirth. If you are struggling with urine leaking when laughing, coughing, sneezing or exercising, the Emsella Chair might be the answer you have been searching for. The Emsella can address intimate health concerns, such as vaginal laxity and difficulty reaching orgasm in women. It has been shown to improve women’s sexual satisfaction by strengthening the pelvic floor muscles and restoring functionality.

 FAQs

  • The Emsella treatment is ideal for both men and women who are seeking support with their pelvic floor. Common presentations to our clinic include: mild prolapse, urinary incontinence (urge and stress) as well as men & women looking to improve sexual wellbeing (enhanced orgasm).

  • A minimum of six treatments is recommended, over the course of three weeks (two sessions weekly). During your initial consultation, our practitioner will provide you recommendations on whether you may require some additional support to achieve maximum results.

  • During your first consultation and treatment, allow 45 minutes. This accounts for the consultation, the treatment and also scheduling of your next appointments. Ongoing appointments are 30 minutes in length (the actual treatment runs for 28 minutes).

Treatments are delivered twice weekly for three weeks. Ongoing treatments can be booked at your discretion. Recommendations are often: weekly thereafter for four weeks.

  • You will experience pelvic floor muscle contractions, presenting as a tingling feeling in your pelvic floor.

  • The Emsella is a non-invasive procedure and you will be fully clothed during your session. You will start to experience results immediately after your session, and you can continue with your daily activities as soon as the session is over

  • We recommend loosely fitted clothing to help achieve the best positioning during your treatment.

The Technology

BTL Emsella is FDA cleared, medical CE-marked and TGA (ARTG #302821) approved. It represents the first and only non-invasive technology proven in multiple studies to effectively treat urinary incontinence.

To treat urinary incontinence, the Emsella uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to stimulate motor neurons and cause involuntary contractions of the pelvic floor muscles. These repeated contractions work to develop muscle mass and strength, helping to restore proper support and control of the bladder.

These contractions are similar to performing kegel exercises except they are significantly more effective and efficient. A single 28-minute session is equivalent to performing 11,200 Kegel exercises – an amount not possible on your own,

Compared to other alternative treatments for urinary incontinence such as surgically implanting a mesh sling or pessary to support the urethra and bladder, the Emsella is a wonderfully non-invasive and safe procedure that does not take a toll on the body. With zero downtime and quick sessions, urinary incontinence treatments can be received while still going about daily life uninterrupted.
